Sangamon Terrace is a multi-story senior housing residence located on the south side of Chicago. HUD and IDA provided funding to offer low income residents quality housing opportunity. The project consists of an all precast structure complete with architectural load bearing exterior walls, interior precast elevator and stair shafts, and hollowcore floor and roof planks.
The architectural finish is a white cement, tint additive and an abrasive blast. The project also included a concealed walkway into the adjacent building. This project was completed in 2014. The general contractor was JJ Duffy, and the architect was Harley Ellis Deveraux.
