This project is an addition to an existing office complex in Mundelein, Illinois. The challenge for ATMI Precast was to closely match the original ten year old architectural precast mix. This mix and finish utilized a retarder applique finish that exposed the aggregate which was from the original quarry. Panels are non-load bearing attached with both gravity and lateral connections back to a steel frame. Project site conditions dictated that we erect and temporarily support a new bridge feature to this addition, while the main addition structure is erected. Due to the addition having a basement, erection from a larger crane was utilized from the adjacent parking lot to minimize ground pressure to foundation walls. Project was designed by Ware Malcomb and constructed for McShane Construction. Waubonsee Development planned and performed this erection.
