West Aurora High School Concession Stand

West Aurora High School fans coming out to cheer on their Blackhawks at sporting events can now enjoy an enhanced food and beverage experience, thanks to a new concession stand that opened during a track and field meet.

The new facility at Ormond Stadium is the result of a partnership between West Aurora School District, the Blackhawk Sports Boosters and a matching donor.

Blackhawk Sports Boosters President Rhonda Mont of Aurora said plans for the new 1,800 SF concession stand, which is located in the stadium's northwest corner, began before the pandemic.

Mont said the overhaul of the concession stand and the rest of the complex will help West Aurora fit in "with some of the more elite schools in the conference."

The larger space at the new concession stand will allow more food to be produced and served quicker to guests, Mont said.
