ATMI Precast Hires Six New Designers

ATMI Precast is proud to welcome the following designers to our team: Chandra Teja Kilaru, Hans Griese, Edgardo Santana-Santiago, Lexi Cai, Lauren Grana, and Andrew Johnson.

Chandra Teja Kilaru / Designer (Engineer-in-Training)

Chandra Teja Kilaru obtained his Master’s degree emphasis on Structural Engineering from Iowa State University (ISU). While at ISU, he worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Institute of Transportation at ISU. He joined ATMI as an intern in the summer of 2014 and became a full-time employee in October of 2014. His primary responsibilities include design of precast wall panels and associated connections for box-buildings including warehouses and manufacturing facilities.

Hans Griese / Designer (BIM Modeler)

Hans Griese obtained his Bachelors of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). He joined ATMI in January 2015 as an intern and upon graduation, he became a full-time employee in May 2015. He is part of ATMI’s Tekla development team including programing through Tekla’s open API.

Edgardo Santana-Santiago / Designer (Engineer-in-training)

Edgardo Santana-Santiago obtained his Master's from Northwestern University (NU) and his Bachelor's from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez (UPRM). While at NU he was involved in academic research of ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC). During his time at UPRM he actively participated in numerous student competitions from the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).  He joined ATMI in June of 2015.

Lexi Cai / Designer (Engineer-in-Training)

Lexi Cai obtained her Master’s in Structural Engineering from Northwestern University (NU) and her Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri. She joined ATMI in June 2015. She is certified LEED Green and among her responsibilities at ATMI is LEED compliance and R-value determination along with the design of precast wall panels and associated connections for box-buildings including temporary construction bracing of the wall panels.

Lauren Grana / Designer (Engineer-in-Training)

Lauren Grana obtained her Master’s in Structural Engineering and Infrastructure Materials from Northwestern University (NU) and her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Physics from St. John’s University in Jamaica, NY (SJU). She joined ATMI in August 2015. Her primary responsibilities include the design precast wall panels and their associated connections for box-buildings as well as the temporary construction bracing of wall panels.

Andrew Johnson / Designer (Engineer-in-Training)

Andrew Johnson obtained his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Northern Illinois University (NIU). He has one year of experience in HVAC design and seven years of experience in 3D modeling. He joined ATMI in January 2016 and is on ATMI’s Tekla development team. His interests are in BIM technology and its application in automatic industrial processes.
